Family Vacay-Day 3

The kids all slept great and Myles gave us an extra hour of sleep this morning (making it 5:45). We enjoyed a slow start with a deluxe breakfast of sausage, coconut pancakes, cheesy eggs and hot chocolate. Myles and I took a walk around the lake so he could take a quick nap while Bryan started to pack up camp. Luke and Emma continued to patrol our campsite with the BB gun for any bad guys. My walk with Myles turned into more of an adventurous hike, where at one point, the stroller got away from me and he rolled right into some bushes. It was memorable. :)

The view across the lake where our campsite was.

We passed through Ouray on our way to the beach. I insisted on this picture, because just a seven years ago it looked like this…

Wowzer!!

We spent the day at Ridgway State Park's beach area. The kids had a blast at the beach and at the park that was right next to the beach. I still can't figure out how we didn't get dumped on by very ominous rain clouds. Many people left anticipating the weather change. We enjoyed a less crowded beach and great weather.

Those clouds and not one rain drop after lunch!

Our next stop was a cabin we found off of VRBO in Ridgway. It worked well to have the first two nights camping and the last two in this cabin. One of the perks was it had a washer and dryer. So nice to not have to go home to a bunch of dirty and stinking camping clothes. This cabin was perfect for our family! The views off of the deck and from the hot tub of the  mountains were spectacular. Bryan and I reflected upon when we hiked to the top of Mt. Sneffels in what feels like a lifetime ago! We loved those adventures we took years ago and we love the ones we are taking with our family now.
