"Working"

Last week, Bryan attended a DirecTV conference in Georgia. He went with a business partner/friend and I was curious what exactly would happen at this "work" conference. Even with my speculation, I was still a little surprised by the picture updates I received about the conference while he was there.

Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa Nielson made a trip out to Colorado last weekend. We had a great time while they were here. We met up with Bryan's brother and his family in Erie (about an hour north of us) Saturday night for dinner. We had a really good visit with everyone and Luke loved playing with his cousins. Sunday afternoon, Luke welcomed Grandma and Grandpa to our home. They definitely spoiled Luke with attention and love.

EASTER

Luke woke up to find a trail of Easter eggs outside of his bedroom door that led him downstairs to his Easter basket. That was Luke's favorite breakfast of his life, all chocolate eggs and skittles. He was living the dream.

Luke and his buddy, Charlie, had matching ties that they wore on Easter Sunday. Watch out nursery, these two are a force to be reckoned with.  Luke's tie almost lasted the car ride to church (2 minutes away) before he yanked it off. I guess he prefers the casual look. 

Our friends, Nate and Ashley, invited us over for Easter dinner. Afterwards, their 2 year-old-son, Grant, and Luke went on another Easter egg hunt. Luke was all about the candy and Grant was all about the hunt. It worked out great. Grant collected, Luke munched...and munched the treasures. 

My favorite part of Easter was Sunday morning when our family went on a little hike on the trails behind our home. It was a gorgeous and peaceful morning, even with Luke in tow. :) I'm not sure how to describe this, but time seemed to slow down just a little bit on this hike. Not a particular instance or moment that stood out, but an overall feeling of contentment and gratitude for the blessings in my life.  One of those tender moments that is difficult to describe, but so easily felt. It was a wonderful Easter, on many levels.

Birthday Girl!

We celebrated my 29th birthday last week! I was spoiled by Bryan with delicious food, a very thoughtful gift and a morning of sleeping in, ahhhh. Luke was even on his best behavior for the day. What more could a gal want???

On my actual birthday, Bryan kicked things off with quite the impressive breakfast.

 We enjoyed a family dinner at "Five Guys" followed by my favorite cake that Bryan made for me. He even lit some candles AND sang "Happy Birthday".  The next Dr. appt I have is going to be a little rough on the weigh-in. It was worth every bite, it was my birthday after all.

The next day, Bryan and I went out for a romantic birthday dinner at Le Dolce Vita. (Anything is romantic when your kid is not at the table or clinging to your leg, right?) Just when I thought I couldn't be spoiled anymore...Bryan managed to pull something else out of his bag of tricks.

Bryan surprised me with this beauty! I am loving playing on the computer and trying to figure out everything that it is capable of. So far, I've succeeded in uploading pictures, and posting to the blog.

Book Club

I hosted our neighborhood book club last month and decided to do a spin on the typical Fruit Pizza. I offered a "Mini Fruit Pizza Bar." I used sugar cookies as the crust, a cream cheese/cool whip as the sauce and various fruit for toppings It was very simple, but turned out to be pretty tasty. I think this could be a hit with any age group.

Well, Bryan and I were curious if Luke would remember...

 He must remember his "bath" and still loves it (or his refelction in the mirror).

If only there was a place for the water and bubbles.
