Primary Program

Once a year, the children at church are able to perform their songs they learn for the entire congregation. I love this Sunday. I played the piano in primary for years and was used to accompanying the kids for their primary program. This was my first program in many years that I was able to sit and watch my kids. It was a great day and I was proud with how well each of them did--their behavior and their memorized parts they said into the microphone. Myles still has one more year of nursery, then he'll be joining them in primary. I had a meeting before church started so Bryan got the kids ready and even snapped a few pics before they left (without my prompting!). He's a good one!

Touch A Truck

The community put on this event before, but it was our first year that we attended. They have 20-30 trucks, maybe more. I'm quite bad with estimating things like this. There were ambulances, fire trucks, construction and army vehicles, helicopters, Disney cars/trucks, snowplows, etc on display in the high school parking lot.  We went early, as our Saturday was packed full of activities, but it made for short lines and lots of "loot" a.k.a. junk to be tossed in the trash when kids aren't looking. I thought it was very well done. My favorite part was when Myles climbed into the backseat of a fire engine with a fireman helping him. When the fireman wasn't watching, Myles dove into the front seat and pretended to drive the fire truck. The fireman was caught off guard, laughed when he saw what Myles was up to and quickly helped Myles back to where he should have been. Oh Mister Myles!!! :)

Luke was constantly on the move and hard to capture with a camera! This was the only one we snagged of officer Luke.

Luke is 7!

Luke stayed up late working on his some of his new Lego sets he received from his friends and then was up early assembling another set. Luke loves Legos. His friends know him well. We surprised him at school and took him to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. I think he was hoping for Casa Bonita, but was still happy with Chick-Fil-A. :) That night, we went to the "dirt jumps" as a family and had a blast. There was even a snake that greeted (terrorized in my opinion) us on the pathway. 

How lucky we are to have Luke in our family. As I was going through pictures, there were 9-10 pictures that were taken in rapid fire sequence . I didn't realize I was at the end until all of a sudden Luke wasn't in the frame. It caught my eye with how different the picture was without Luke in it. The picture seemed boring and uninteresting. How much more meaningful, fun and interesting our life is with Luke in it! I can't imagine our family without him. 

After the dirt jumps, we headed home for showers, pajamas and birthday presents. I love the pictures of Luke's siblings and their facial reactions in comparison to Luke's. I guess we might need to place an emphasis on having happiness for others...including our siblings. :)

Luke's Birthday Bash

This year, Luke decided he wanted to keep his birthday party smaller and go to Dart Warz. Win-Win for this mom. The boys had a lot of fun and I loved keeping things simpler at home. I showed Luke a picture of a birthday cake I thought he would like and he got so excited! Ha! Sometimes, I do have the kid figured out (very rare, but on occasion). We had fun making his birthday cake. Bryan made the arrow "legit." The kids helped me sort the candy by color. So crazy that another birthday party is in the books. I think things will change next year, but it's been a fun run of parties to help celebrate this kiddo.
