CANON BALL!

This would be the favorite expression of Luke and Emma when we visit our neighborhood pool. Luke is more true to this phrase when he enters the water. Emma is more into being part of the action and modifies her own "canon ball!"

Myles likes taking cat naps poolside in his tent.

Something New

We tried out a new park in Castle Rock the other day. I love how it is built into the landscape and you wind your way up the hill to different playground equipment. The kids had a blast.

Nothing beats enjoying a good belly laugh with your kid.

My little sidekick and me.
Bad mommy moment-forgot his hat and he received a little too much Vit. D. Oopsies.

We enjoyed the park so much, that we took Bryan with us when we returned a few days later.

It was the perfect evening.

Making Up

Myles is really making up for the first 2.5 months of his life. :) It always felt like he was so sweet, but his stomach or reflux or whatever it was, was just working him over. Poor dude. Now, he is such a smiley and content baby. He is usually my little side kick wherever I go. I'm starting to find my groove with managing three kids. That's mostly me realizing to let a lot of things go. The house is not spotless, a lot of days my kids look homeless (me too, for that matter) and there are not many gourmet meals being prepared. However, I find a great deal of happiness and my own contentment in my life by letting those other things go.

Swim Lessons

I felt like Luke was really starting to get the concept of swimming in Boise when we were swimming every day. I was excited to sign Luke and Emma up for swim lessons in Colorado. These were their first official swim lessons. Luke loved it and is ready to skip the next level. It was a lot of fun to watch him enjoy it as much as he did. Emma's experience wasn't as positive. After she went under water, not once, but twice on the first day and I was the one that had to bring it to others' attention to grab her, she was not digging swim lessons. I try to have the mentality of "get back on the horse and ride," but not this time. She is still young and loves the water. I want to keep it that way. We'll give it another go for Emma in a few months.

Favorites

A few of my "favorites" right now:

  • This view from our house
  • Afternoon thunderstorms
  • Fun part of the neighborhood with kids similar in age
  • Perfect hill on our street for the plasma cars or any of their bikes, scooters, trikes, etc

Happy Father's Day!

We're extremely grateful to claim Bryan as our own. The kids love when he comes home from work and it's "wrestle time." They also enjoy going on hikes and anything outdoorsy with him. I was under the weather this Father's Day, but Bryan didn't complain and just rolled with our low-key celebration. The kids' favorite part of the night was homemade ice cream. Yum!

Catching Up

It has been so fun to catch up with our friends here. We love that the kids picked up right where they left off with their buddies. Myles made the rounds of meeting all of the new-to-him faces. He acted like he's known them his whole life, a whopping 4 months. :)
