Cramers held their annual farewell to Summer water party. The kids had a blast and Elizabeth continues to be the "hostess with the hostess!" What a great Summer and lots of memories with wonderful friends.
I'm not sure what type of party this turned into! A topless girl being painted with colored ice cubes by a bunch of boys and her mother took the picture!?! As long as one of them doesn't ever receive a nomination for a Supreme Court Justice, they'll be just fine.
Kelly threw out the invite to have a Colorado beach day at Cherry Creek Reservoir before school started up later that week. The kids had a blast. The water looked a little questionable, but no GI issues and no rashes, so long live Summer! :)
We seem to be rather dominate with making baby boys in my circle of friends. These four cuties have to stick close together for some girl time.
We gave Emma the option to choose a birthday party with lots of friends, or invite one friend on a birthday outing with the family. Emma chose to invite her friend, Milly, to join our family at Boondocks. Oh my, it was such a loud, high-adventure night! Happy that we could celebrate this birthday girl turning 6! (even if it was a month over-due) I am so grateful to have this girl in our family.
Emma was the only one that was able to do the mutton bustin' this year. Luke was too old and heavy and Myles wasn't old enough! Emma was excited at first and then the jitters set in. Nothing like a little bribery to help ease the nerves. We also had our friends, the McNeils, join in on the fun.
Emma had a great cheering section. However, she was not loving it and was much happier when we went to see/pet the animals.
I love the look on the face of the lady who is holding the bunny. She is looking at that other woman like, "Uhhh, this is for the kids!" Haha.
We swapped a weekend with Cramers in the summer for a couple's getaway and they were up first! We had a blast with their kids. We did the county parade and received copious amounts of candy. We sit right at the beginning of the parade and everyone is very excited to throw handfuls of candy towards our line-up of kids. It's pretty ridiculous when candy is left on the street because the kids reach a point they become selective about which candy goes in their bag. Our kids are currently still enjoying their candy from that parade--just in time to replenish with Halloween candy. We filled the rest of the weekend with lots of playtime at home, assembling a glider, playing at parks and attempting church. The youngest two were done before church even started! :) Love these neighbors and friends who are like our family!
Emma loved having another girl around...we all did. :)
Emma lost her first tooth back in July! (I need to play some major catch-up on the blog). She was pretty excited about that tooth coming out and is currently working on losing her next tooth. Our tooth fairy pays $1 per tooth. I think Luke may have pulled a tooth slightly early in order to reach his saving's goal to purchase a lego set.
