We held our annual Back to School Feast. Our family theme for this school year is, " Come what may...and love it." It has been a challenging past 6 months with the pandemic. So much change, especially for the kids. The plan is to go back to school 100% in-person learning with masks on when social distancing isn't possible. However, if there are too many positive cases or other concerns arise, the school will have to shift back to remote learning. The other neighborhood schools in our district are doing hybrid 2 days in-person learning, 3 days remote. Since AVA is a charter school, we have some leniency with what our schedule is and our board voted for 100% in-person learning (and those who would prefer 100% e-learning were also give that option). Each of my kids were excited to go back to school. While I know the teachers did their absolute best in the Spring with online learning, it was not too ideal (for anyone). We are hopeful the kids will be able to stay in-person learning for at least a few months. However, we are trying to adapt the attitude of we can only control our actions/responses. It's a work in progress for all of us. It was a fun evening of chowing down, dance partying and trampoline jumping. Let's do this!!!
