Christmas Eve

Luke was under the weather and I was starting to battle a stomach bug, but the show must go on!! We like to go to a movie on the Christmas Eve. This year, we improvised. We enjoyed a Star Wars movie marathon at home (where Bryan and I ended up sending the kids out of the room for some scary and intense parts several times). Luke was pretty curious about princess Leia and Jabba the Hut. Uhhh…I think they're going to go swimming, that's why she is wearing that. The chain around her neck? Dad's turn to answer.
We enjoyed appetizers for dinner: spinach artichoke dip, cheese ball, sausage, cheese, little smokies, fruit, crackers, chips, it was quite the delicious spread. The kids' favorites were the little smokies and sausage. Bryan was pleased with their choices.
After dinner, we played games as a family. Luke and Emma picked "Busy Town," "HeadBands," "Disney Matching," and "Guess Who." Myles didn't want to be left out of the fun. It turned into a game on the side trying to keep him entertained so he wouldn't destroy the game we were playing.
The kids already opened their new Christmas pajamas for our trip to Florida. Keeping with a modified tradition, we let them open one present Christmas Eve to complete their pajamas. We checked the Santa tracker a few times to make sure he was heading the right direction to our home. The kids loved that visual.
Once all of us were cozy in our pajamas, Bryan read the story of the Savior's birth in Luke 2 and then it was off to bed.
