Luke and Emma

Many people ask us how Luke is adapting with Emma in the home. Overall, I would say that he is doing shockingly well. We definitely have our moments where my hands are tied and he isn't too thrilled about my inability to attend to his every wish, but we are all adjusting and learning each day. There are some very sweet moments, too. I think Luke might even have a soft spot his heart for his baby sister...maybe. :)

Sharing his drink with Emma, so thoughtful.

Showing her where her head is...

and her nose.

Giving her some loves.

What a good, big brother!

Rick and Jasmine

Bryan's brother and his wife made it out to Colorado today. They made the journey from Utah to buy our car. It was fun to have visitors and change up our day! We wish that they could have stayed longer!

We managed to squeeze in at least one project while they were here. Rick helped Bryan make the valance for Emma's room. I love how it looks and the fact that it was ridiculously easy to make.

2 Weeks!

Emma is 2 weeks old today! It has felt like a very quick couple of weeks and a very long 2 weeks, all at the same time. :) We continue to adjust to each day with our sweet girl in our home. Luke is doing really well, considering this is no longer just "Luke's Blog".

2 Week Stats:

Weight:  7 lbs 14 oz....50th %tile
Height:   20 inches......38th %tile
Head:     35 cm.............79th %tile

Cashed out after the Dr.'s visit and heel poke. :(

One of Emma's favorite places to sleep is on the couch, barricaded behind several pillows from a very curious older brother. Love her little smiles...

Sneak Peak

We did Emma's newborn photos, lots of fun. Here is a sneak peak of some of my favs.

Emma enjoyed her first bath the other day. She REALLY liked her hair being shampooed, a true girl. Luke supervised and made sure that I didn't miss a spot.

We are very excited to announce that Emma joined our family on July 9th at 5:54 p.m.! She weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz and was 19 inches long. She is such a sweet baby and we love having her tender spirit in our home.  We were blessed to have my mom come stay with us and help out immensely, especially with Luke. She flies out today, so then the real work will begin around here. Luke has hardly noticed Emma with all of the fun things he and grandma have been up to! Okay, time for the good stuff...PICTURES!

Making her debut.

Emma, so tender and sweet.

Proud papa.

I love the expression on Luke's many captions that could sum it up. The one that I chose, "My reign is over, and I think I know who is to blame." :)

Luke quickly found other things to entertain himself with and managed to get our attention.

Someone else was also looking for a little attention.

Going home outfit.

Waving hello to the world.

I'm already playing "dress-up" with her.

Family photo. Luke wasn't feelin' it that morning, can ya tell?

Having a great time with Grandma...

I can't believe that it has already been a week since Emma came to our family. I cannot put into words how blessed we feel. Welcome baby Emma, we love you.

The Final Prep Work... A.K.A. "Nesting"

We are busy around here with the final cleaning and organizing before Emma makes her big debut. Luke has felt the winds of change already blowing our way...

I really like how Emma's room turned out. We only have one or two more things to check off of the list, but I'm feeling pretty ready. If she follows Luke's example, she'll sleep in the bouncer in our bathroom for at least a few months, but the room is ready when she is.  :) Here are some pics to share.
